Major League Rugby: Miami Sharks Sign Los Pumas Star For 2024 Season
Major League Rugby expansion club the Miami Sharks have accounted the signing of Argentinean international scrumhalf Tomas Cubelli for the 2024 season.
Newly founded Major League Rugby Club, the Miami Sharks have unveiled the signing of Argentinean international Tomas Cubelli ahead of next season.
The 33-year-old scrumhalf has represented Argentina on 89 occasions and has spent much of his professional career in Australia playing for Super Rugby franchises the Brumbies and Western Force.
Famously a member of the Argentinean side who completed a famous first-ever away victory over the All Blacks in 2022, Cubelli gives the club a solid foundation from which to build.
Joining fellow Argentinean in head coach José Pellicena, Cubelli is the first signing for the newly founded club.
Adding further Argentinean influence to the proceedings is one of the chief founders of the club, businessman Marcos Galperin who, like Cubelli, is a native of Buenos Aires.
Galperin is joined in the leadership ranks by Ronaldo Strazzolini and Alejandro Macfarlane.
Joining fellow expansion club the Chicago Hounds, Miami’s participation next season will bring the league total to 13 teams spread across the United States and Canada.
