Toulouse won the Champions Cup on May 25, and despite not having won a Top 14 match since May 18, Le Stade landed at the top of the table in top-flight French rugby. For their efforts, they were rewarded with a bye week, while fifth-place La Rochelle took on RC Toulon, defeating the red and blacks 34-29.
This Top 14 demi-finale could be framed as offense vs. defense, as the Toulouse side was 200 points clear of the second-best offensive team during the season, finishing with 765 match points. La Rochelle, meanwhile, allowed only 496 to end the season, good for first overall in match points allowed.
La Rochelle certainly will be a tough opponent, but Toulouse has something the yellow and blacks don't, and that's all-world scrum-half Antoine Dupont.
Toulouse will play La Rochelle on June 21 at 2:15 p.m. EDT. The match will be broadcast on FloRugby in the USA.
