Behind the behemoth that is Toulouse, Stade Francais and Bordeaux finished second and third in the final Top 14 table. Now, the two clubs meet in the French top-flight league's demi-finales, for a chance to go to the finale in Marseille on June 29.

The two clubs are closer than they've been in a decade to the ultimate prize of French rugby. In fact, Bordeaux has never won a Top 14 Championship. As for Stade Francais, it last took home the Bouclier de Brennus in 2015.

Having taken second place in the final table, Stade Francais was granted a bye to the Top 14 semifinals. Bordeaux, on the other hand, was forced to handle the Racing 92 in the quarterfinals, which it did vigorously, winning 31-17. 

Bordeaux and Stade Francais played twice during the 26-round regular season of Top 14, each taking a game. The most recent was a Stade Francais win, 22-18, on May 19. 

Bordeaux Begles rugby will play Stade Francais on June 22 at 3:05 p.m. EDT. The match will be broadcast on FloRugby in the USA.
