The international rugby summer season kicks off June 22 as the World Rugby No.1-ranked team, South Africa, travels to London for a match with Wales at 8 a.m. EDT at the famed Twickenham Stadium.

South Africa latched onto the No.1 ranking at World Rugby following its second consecutive Rugby World Cup win in 2023. The Springboks now embark on a busy summer schedule that will see the team travel around the world. 

This also is the first summer season with Rassie Erasmus back as the head coach of the national team. Erasmus has been the director of rugby for South Africa since 2017 and was the head coach from 2018-2019.

For Wales, ranked No. 10 in the World Rugby Rankings, coach Warren Gatland continues to rebuild the national team he successfully led from 2007-2019, before returning to his native New Zealand to coach the Chiefs.
