In soccer, it's known as the Clásico del Río de la Plata, but the rivalry between Argentina and Uruguay in rugby is no slouch. 

This competition has existed in some form since the 1950s, but this match will be the first in nine years between the two teams' senior squads. From 2016-2023, Argentina XV played Uruguay.

The resumption of the rivalry will take place at Estadio Domingo Burgueño in Maldonado, Uruguway, on July 20. 

Both Los Pumas and Los Teros lost to France within a few days of each other, as Les Bleus visited South America. But both teams have reason for optimism. Argentina came back the next week and defeated France handily. 

For Uruguay, the No. 17-ranked team in the world, dropping 28 points on the French, which certainly is progress, considering their last international match was a Rugby World Cup thumping by New Zealand, 73-0.
