The second round of the Rugby Championship 2024 will feature a match between the New Zealand All Blacks and Argentina Los Pumas

Both teams will carefully consider their lineups after the unexpected victory from Los Pumas last week.

What a difference a week can make in sport, as the All Blacks overcame a difficult defeat in Round 1 to brush aside an Argentina team that simply was not at the races. In the end a 42-10 score is a clear reflection of where these two teams were this week.

TRY! Juan Cruz Mallia

Argentina finally gets over the line for a try, as fullback Juan Cruz Mallia shows his determination to get over. NZL 42 - ARG 10.

All Blacks Pressure

The All Blacks are in cruise control here with Los Pumas playing such a poor brand of rugby with basic handling mistakes, a lack of intensity and zero tactical feel for where to target their hosts.

Full Time! NZL 42 - ARG 10

What a difference a week can make in sport, as the All Blacks overcame a difficult defeat in Round 1 to brush aside an Argentina team that simply was not at the races.

In the end a 42-10 score is a clear reflection of where these two teams were this week.

For Argentina, an inability to back up a win will be a major concern for Felipe Contepomi's coaching staff, while Scott Robertson will be over the moon at his team's mental fortitude to right the wrongs of Round 1. Full match report to follow.

TRY! Juan Cruz Mallia

Finally, Argentina has a score, and it is that man, Mallia, who has been their only standout performer today. NZL 42 - ARG 10.

NO TRY!

Argentina cannot catch a break tonight... The score remains NZL 42 - ARG 3.

TMO Decision Incoming!

Argentina might have gotten its first try, but the match officials are checking for a knock on.

TRY! Will Jordan Again!

There is no stopping the winger, who continues to pile up tries! NZL 42 - ARG 3.

TRY! Beauden Barrett!

This is a clinic in Auckland! Damian McKenzie takes the ball to the line before finding Beauden Barrett with a flat ball, and he scoots away! McKenzie converts, and this one is all but over! NZL 35 - ARG 3.

TRY! Will Jordan!

International rugby's most dangerous finisher slips through the tackle of Santiago Carreras! McKenzie slots the conversion this time from the other touchline! This is getting ugly for Los Pumas! NZL 28 - ARG 3.

TRY! Caleb Clarke

Ardie Savea is at the heart of everything the All Blacks have going on. He finds Caleb Clarke out wide following an intense attacking phase. McKenzie absolutely nails the touchline conversion. NZL 21 - ARG 3.

TRY! Ardie Savea!

New Zealand's superstar backrow burrows through the Argentinean defense for a superbly taken maul try. NZL 14 - ARG 3.

Penalty! Santiago Carreras

All Blacks prop Tyrell Lomax goes high, and it is a penalty to Los Pumas. Santiago Carreras slots it, despite the ball falling off the tee. NZL 7 - ARG 3.

TRY! Damian McKenzie

Simply superb from the All Blacks here, as Codie Taylor and TJ Perenara connect to get their team on the front foot. Beauden Barrett steps into first receiver and puts a chip over the Argentinean rush defense, and Damian McKenzie pounces! He converts his own try! NZL 7 - ARG 0.

All Blacks Win A Penalty

New Zealand has won a penalty deep in the Argentina 22, and Jordie Barrett goes for the corner... Codie Taylor can't find his jumpers, and Los Pumas are safe, as Lucio Cinti clears his lines. New Zealand wins its next line-out and is on the attack! Ardie Savea is on fire so far!

Argentina Kickoff

Santiago Carreras has got us underway, but the All Blacks bring a frenzy in defense and turn Los Pumas over, with Jordie Barrett nearly finding a 50:22, but the All Blacks will have a line-out just outside the Argentina 22.

The Haka Is Underway

Leading his team with authority, scrumhalf TJ Perenara has a focused look in his eyes as he stares down Los Pumas, who are not giving an inch with their own intensity.

Team News

Keep an eye on starting lock Sam Darry, who scored a try for the All Blacks in the 15th minute. Anton Lienert-Brown, who scored in the 35th minute and Mark Tele'a, who made a breakthrough in the 52nd minute, also will return to the squad.

On the Argentine side, Los Pumas will be missing Agustin Creevy after an impactful performance last week off the bench. Creevy scored the go-ahead try against the All Blacks.

Franco Molina, who had a brilliant try from a lineout, will be back again for the second game and come off the bench. Santiago Carreras, who had an incredible kicking performance last week, will remain in the starting lineup.
