Cardiff will open its BKT United Rugby Championship campaign at home against Zebre on Sept. 20.
After a frustrating 2023-2024 season of near-misses, Grady is optimistic about his team's potential and is determined to help Cardiff push forward.
Having signed a new contract during the summer, Grady is eager to continue his journey with the team he’s risen through the ranks with.
“There were options elsewhere,” Grady admitted, “But I want to be back with Cardiff. I have full belief that we can become a good side, and I want to be part of that journey with the boys I’ve grown up with.”
Reflecting on last season, Grady remains optimistic despite the setbacks.
“If you look at our performances, we are a really good side," he added. "We didn’t always get the wins, but hopefully, the new boys can give us that extra boost, and we can turn those losing bonus points into victories.”
Grady also spoke about his growing confidence.
“I’m definitely more confident in my ability and excited for the season ahead," Grady said. "Hopefully, I can build on last season and have an even better one.”
Known for his versatility, Grady has played on the wing and at outside center for Cardiff, and he recently was deployed in the No. 12 jersey for Wales. However, Grady is unfazed by positional changes.
“Honestly, I don’t mind what position I play," he said. "It’s just a number on your back. I’m just enjoying playing rugby. At the end of the day, I’m here to help the team, no matter where I’m placed.”
As the new season approaches, Grady’s belief in his personal development and the team’s success remains stronger than ever.
