The South Africa Springboks and New Zealand All Blacks will meet at Ellis Park in Johannesburg, in their first bout since the 2023 World Cup Grand Final. 

The historic teams will play two rounds on Aug. 31 and Sept. 7, in the process, likely deciding the Rugby Championship title.

The Springboks, under coach Rassie Erasmus, have made nine alterations to their squad, with Jasper Wiese returning after a suspension. 

The Springboks face a significant challenge due to injuries among their locks, including the absence of Salmaan Moerat, although Eben Etzebeth has been upgraded and will be available off the bench. 

Erasmus has reshuffled his pack, pairing Pieter-Steph du Toit with Ruan Nortje in the second row. Notable changes also include Aphelele Fassi stepping in at fullback.

In response, All Blacks' head coach Scott Robertson has introduced key leadership in his lineup. Captain Scott Barrett returns to the second row, while Sam Cane makes his first start since the Rugby World Cup final. 

The All Blacks feature a strong backline with Beauden Barrett at fullback and a potent trio of Caleb Clarke, Rieko Ioane, and Will Jordan on the wings.
