The 2023 Rugby World Cup hero Handrè Pollard moved into second place in South Africa Rugby history books when he connected on an extra point against Argentina in the 13 minute of the match on Sept. 21. 

Pollard, who plays professionally for Leicester Tigers and was once the highest-paid rugby player in the world, scored his 743rd point against Los Pumas in Argentina. It was his fourth points of the game when he nailed the extra points in The Rugby Championship match.

If South Africa wins the match, they outright win The Rugby Championship. 

Pollard has helped the Springboks win two Rugby World Cups, in 2019 and 2023. In 2023, Pollard didn't miss a kick as the Springboks captured the championship. 

On Sept. 21, he moved passed Morne Steyn for the record. He trails legendary Springbok Percy Montgomery, who scored 893 points. 

Pollard added three more points at the 17 minute.
