Ulster Rugby Results In United Rugby Championship in 2024-2025 Season
It's been a maddening inconsistent URC season so far for the club from Belfast.
They entered the November hiatus seventh in the table with a 3-0-3 record. They have a win over defending champion Glasgow Warriors in dramatic fashion and also won an Irish Derby over Connacht and home win against the Ospreys. In fact, Ulster in Belfast has been unbeatable.
But away from Northern Ireland, Ulster has a pair of lopsided losses coming in South Africa to the Lions and the Bulls. And they blew big lead in Wales to Cardiff Rugby in Round 6. Ulster's last URC match before Champions Cup play is against Leinster in Belfast at 2:35 p.m. ET on Nov. 29.
What Did Ulster Rugby Do In The Champions Cup In 2023-2024?
Ulster failed to advance to the Round of 16 in 2023-2024, going 1-0-3 in Pool B. The lone win was against Racing 92, 31-15 in Round 2. Ulster finished sixth in the URC to qualify for Champions Cup.
After missing the Knockout Stage of the Champions Cup last year, Ulster dropped to the Challenge Cup Knockout stage and was defeated in the quarterfinals by Clermont.
Has Ulster Rugby Ever Won The Champions Cup?
Ulster won the Champions Cup in in 1999 and has not won it again. They last reached the Champion Cup Final in 2012.
Who Is The Ulster Rugby Coach?
Richie Murphy, considered one of the best talent developers in the world who coached the Ireland U20 team from 2021-2024 and before that was the Ireland Rugby skills and kicking coach, was hired in 2024. He coached Ulster in the Challenge Cup after Dan McFarland left.
Murphy is the father of Ben Murphy, who plays for Connacht and Jack Murphy, who is on the Ireland U20 team and in the Ulster Academy.
