Darcy Graham made a sensational return to the international stage, scoring four tries in Scotland’s commanding victory over Fiji in their Autumn Series opener at Murrayfield.

Back on the team after a yearlong injury absence, Graham seized the moment, scoring twice in each half, tying at one point with Duhan van der Merwe as Scotland’s top try-scorer, before Van der Merwe reclaimed his lead with a 29th test try.

Scotland capitalized early on Fiji’s ill-discipline, which saw Frank Lomani sent to the bin just three minutes in for a deliberate knock-on.

It took a few attempts, but Scotland soon exploited its advantage, with Kyle Rowe’s footwork opening the field for Adam Hastings to convert, establishing a 7-0 lead. Fiji’s penalty count spiraled, racking up seven by the 14-minute mark, and another yellow card for Apisalome Vota further strained their defensive efforts.

Graham’s first try came from sharp interplay with hooker Ewan Ashman, despite a hint of a forward pass.

Moments later, quick thinking by Hastings off a Fijian penalty set Graham up for his second try, stretching the score to 14-0.

By the 21st minute, Scotland was cruising at 26-0 after a try from Huw Jones, but a Fijian rally saw Mali Derenalagi and Tevita Ikanivere close the gap to 29-15.

Fiji’s resurgence was cut short by Graham, who completed his hat trick with support from Jones.

Substitutes Dylan Richardson and Jamie Dobie helped create Graham’s fourth try, and the score climbed to 43-17.

Scotland’s relentless attack continued, with Hastings delivering a brilliant offload that set up Van der Merwe for another try. Hastings capped off the night by cross-kicking for Jones, who finished with ease.

Full Time! SCO 57 - FIJ 17

The home side is denied a grandstand finish, as Duhan van der Merwe gets called back to deny him what would've been an all-time score!

Alas, Scotland will be happy with that result, with man of the match Darcy Graham beaming as he spoke after the contest.

TRY! Huw Jones! 79th Minute

Pinpoint from Hastings once again, as he finds Jones all on his own out wide! This has been an impressive day out by the Scots.

Hastings drills the conversion to bring his personal tally to 17 points. SCO 57 - FIJ 17.

TRY! Duhan van der Merwe! 72nd Minute

Finally getting on the scoresheet! The Scotland powerhouse had a nice easy run in to finish off a slick set play.

Hastings converts to make the scores SCO 50 - FIJ 17.

TRY! Darcy Graham! 61st Minute

For anyone who thought the Edinburgh star would be content with playing second fiddle to his Glasgow rivals Kyle Steyn, Kyle Rowe and clubmate Duhan van der Merwe, you were mistaken.

Four tries in one test is impressive, no matter who the opponent is, but against a good Fijian side, that was a serious innings from Graham.

Conversion is good: SCO 43 - FIJ 17.

TRY! Darcy Graham - 52nd Minute

Hat trick time for the winger, who gets on the end of a nice offload before bouncing off a tackler to calm things down for his side.

Conversion from Hastings is good! SCO 36 - FIJ 17.

Stalemate

In stark contrast to the first half, this half has been one of defensive intensity, with most of the action taking place between the 10-meter lines.

Right now, we need a moment of magic, and both teams have plenty of contenders to be their heroes.

TRY! Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula - 50th Minute

Fiji is back in this one with its third try, and now Scotland looks rattled, as the Scots are getting dragged into a battle they didn't want. Handling errors are creeping in for Gregor Townsend's side. SCO 29 - FIJ 17.

Second Half! We Are Back Underway - 40th Minute

TRY! Meli Derenalagi! 44th Minute

Fiji is back in this one with a try four minutes into overtime! SCO 29 - FIJ 10.

TRY! Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula 35th Minute

Fiji finally has a foothold in this contest, but Caleb Muntz did miss the conversion. It's still something to build on for the visitors.  SCO 29 - FIJ 5.

Yellow Card! 33rd Minute

Ewan Ashman is off for cynical breakdown play.

TRY! Huw Jones 20th Minute

This is getting ugly for Fiji. Huw Jones claims the easiest interception he will ever claim and races away under the posts.

Conversion is good! SCO 26 - FIJ 0.

TRY! Darcy Graham! 17th Minute

By the finest of margins, Graham gets his foot to the ball for a grubber kick forward, which he claims. He'll score a second try in two minutes.

Some quick thinking from Adam Hastings with a pinpoint cross-field kick set up that try, as the hosts look to be in a rampant mood.

The conversion is missed by Hastings SCO 19 - FIJ 0.

Quick thinking from Hasto 🤯

TRY! Darcy Graham! 15th Minute

Minutes on, Graham gets one of his own to set up his side's first score, following some lovely play down the right-hand flank. Adam Hastings slots the conversion. SCO 14 - FIJ 0.

Yellow Card! 13th Minute

Outside center Apisalome Vota is given his marching orders as a result of the accumulation of infringements from his side. This was a tough blow for Scotland, just as Lomani was coming back.

TRY! Kyle Rowe - Ninth Minute

There was no mistake this time, and that is beautiful from Scotland, with Darcy Graham taking the first hit, before some magical footwork from Rowe to finish.

Conversion from Adam Hastings is good. SCO 7 - FIJ 0.

No TRY! Ewan Ashman! Eighth Minute

The Scottish hooker barges over for the opening try from a superb maul, but it is called back as loosehead prop Pierre Schoeman has been pinged for being in front of the ball carrier.

That is a let-off for Fiji, which crumbled under the pressure. Scotland goes again with another line-out.

YELLOW CARD! Third Minute

Fijian scrumhalf Frank Lomani is shown a yellow card for what looked like a genuine interception attempt, but Scotland looked dangerous and had the numbers advantage.

Sione Tuipulotu Leads Scotland Out For The First Time

What a moment for the Sydney-born center!
