The 30th Investec Champions Cup competition is considered by many to be the best professional rugby tournament in the world and just a level below international test rugby.

The competition features 24 clubs divided into four pools of six clubs. There are four rounds of pool play, and the top 16 clubs advance to the knockout stage with the goal of making it in Cardiff, Wales – which hosted the first Champions Cup Final– and Principality Stadium on May 24.

One of the teams looking to advance to the EPCR Final is the DHL Stormers, who are in Pool 4.

Here are a few things to know about DHL Stormers:

DHL Stormers Results In The United Rugby Championship In 2024-2025 Season

In their first year playing the United Rugby Championship, the Stormers won the championship. They have been a force to be reckoned with since entering European play.

But not so much this year, so far.

The team from Cape Town missed its Springboks for much of the first segment of the URC season and is 2-0-3, currently 13th on the URC table.

The Stormers suffered some surprising losses, including a blowout loss to Edinburgh (38-7) and a loss to the Welsh club Ospreys. The Stormers also lost in Cape Town to the Warriors.

But they did hand Munster a loss.

What Did The DHL Stormers Do In The Champions Cup In 2023-2024?

The Stormers went 3-0-1 in Pool D play and landed the No. 7 seed. They nearly beat then-defending champion La Rochelle in the closing minutes of the Round of 16 after scoring in the 79th minutes, but failed to convert the game-winning kick, losing 22-21 to La Rochelle.

Have The DHL Stormers Ever Won The Champions Cup?

This is just the third Champions Cup the DHL Stormers played in since moving to the United Rugby Championship. They have not advanced to the Final yet.
