Well, that looked easy.

The Glasgow Warriors led 33-12 at halftime, including 19-0 at one point, as the club that's trying to become the first Scottish rugby team to win the Investec Champions Cup demolished the Sale Sharks of the Gallagher Premiership, 38-19, in Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow on Dec. 7.

The Warriors, who are 5-0-2 and second on the United Rugby Championship table, won their third match in a row and first of the Champions cup season in Pool 4.

The Warriors are nearly unbeatable in Glasgow, and Sale - 4-0-3 and sixth on Premiership table - learned the hard way.

Glasgow Warriors Set Tone In First Half

The Warriors opened the scoring two minutes in when George Horne crossed the line, following it with his own conversion for an early 7-0 lead.

Horne struck again in the 12th minute with another try, though he missed the conversion, leaving the score at 12-0.

Kyle Rowe added to Glasgow’s tally in the 16th minute, with Horne converting to make it 19-0.

The Sale Sharks got on the board through a penalty try in the 21st minute after Horne was sent to the sin bin, narrowing the gap to 19-7.

Huw Jones scored a well-taken try in the 23rd minute, converted by Tom Jordan, to extend Glasgow’s lead to 26-7.

Arron Reed responded with a try for Sale in the 26th minute, but Robert du Preez missed the conversion, keeping the score at 26-12.

Horne returned to cap the half with a try and conversion, giving Glasgow a commanding 33-12 halftime lead.

Warriors Seal Win Over Sale Sharks In Second Half

The Sharks fought back in the second half, with Joe Carpenter crossing the line in the 60th minute and du Preez converting to make it 33-19. However, Glasgow sealed the match when Scott Cummings scored in the 64th minute. Horne missed the conversion, but the 38-19 scoreline proved insurmountable.

A late yellow card to Angus Fraser in the 79th minute made no impact, as Glasgow closed out the match with a solid defensive effort.

What's Next For The Glasgow Warriors, Sale Sharks?

The Warriors will travel to Toloun, who scored a big win in South Africa against the DHL Stormers in Round 1. Meanwhile, the Sharks will host Racing 92, who beat the Harlequins in Round 1.
