Ireland Rugby took home a hard-fought win against a determined Welsh side. 

The final score reads Ireland 27, Wales 18, and what a spectacle it was. 

Down to 14 men for a significant chunk of the match, Ireland's resilience in the face of adversity was nothing short of heroic. 

Sam Prendergast’s crucial penalties in the latter stages helped seal the victory, while Jamison Gibson-Park was rightly named Man of the Match for his sterling performance. 

The Welsh fought valiantly, but a late Wales try was ruled out, adding to the frustration. 

With this win, Ireland takes home the Triple Crown - an impressive feat that leaves the team sitting pretty atop the Six Nations standings.

Wales Vs. Ireland Prediction

A wounded animal always comes out fighting, and Wales will be no different this week. 

Taking its lumps from all sides, Wales has no choice but to respond with a better performance than the team has shown through the opening two rounds.

For that to happen, Wales will need to gain parity at set-piece time, something Nicky Smith, in particular, will back himself to do against young Thomas Clarkson.

While this uptick could see Wales pose a few problems for Ireland, it is hard to see the Welsh sustaining it for a full 80 minutes against one of the best teams in the world.

Built around a ruthless defense, lethal set plays and explosive power, Ireland, at this stage, should have too much for the hosts. Throw into the mix Ireland’s consistency over the past four years, and it is hard to see anything but an Irish win. Ireland by 20.

Welsh Coaching Change

Wales underwent a coaching change Feb. 11, with Warren Gatland retiring and Matt Sherratt (Cardiff Coach) being brought in as replacement. Sherratt immediately made mass changes to the starting lineup, already making key recalls like Gareth Anscombe.

The change in leadership likely comes with a change in strategy, which means Ireland might be facing a completely different team than existed in the first two rounds of competition. 

Ireland Not Resting Players

Another note before this game starts is that Ireland did not take this week to rest its players. That's indicative of their seriousness and intention to win the Six Nations and Grand Slam. But it also shows they don't take Wales lightly, despite the Welsh side's slump.

Ireland Sticking With Sam Prendergast

After a rough start to the Six Nations, Prendergast has found his footing, and Ireland has stuck by him. 

While there certainly is banter between Leinster and Munster fans as to who should be first choice, Prendergast showed his passing and kicking abilities, most potently, last game against Scotland. 

If there was going to be a week to change No. 10s, it would've been this week against a slumping Welsh side.
