The 25 Best Rugby Clubs In The World On March 13 | FloRugby Rankings

Rugby is a sport of power, precision, and passion, and at FloRugby, we are committed to bringing fans the most accurate and insightful rankings of the world’s top professional clubs.

Welcome to our latest edition of the FloRugby Top 25 Professional Rugby Clubs Power Rankings, where we evaluate the best teams across the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

Unlike subjective rankings that rely solely on reputation or recent form, we have utilized an in-house formula designed to produce consistent, data-driven results. Our model takes into account a variety of factors, including domestic league performance, continental success, home and away form and other key factors.

As the season progresses, the race for domestic and international silverware intensifies, with clubs battling for supremacy in competitions like the Investec Champions Cup, the United Rugby Championship, Super Rugby and the Gallagher Premiership.

Some teams maintain their dominance, while others emerge as rising forces, pushing the traditional powerhouses to their limits.

So, without further ado, let’s dive into our latest rankings and see which teams have proven themselves worthy of a spot among the elite in professional rugby.

1. Toulouse – N/A

Still our No. 1 team by quite some distance in terms of points, but the injury to the team's talismanic captain Antoine Dupont in the Six Nations could be crucial as the big matches later in the season roll around.

2. Leinster - N/A

A 12th consecutive URC victory means the Irish side has gone 16 matches unbeaten to start this season. Let that sink in…

3.  Union Bordeaux-Begles + 1

Climbing back up one spot on the back of the Chiefs’ Road loss to the Fijian Drua. Domestically, the injury to Antoine Dupont makes UBB a potential season favorite.

4. Waratahs + 5

Jumping five spots as the only undefeated team in Super Rugby, the Sydney side is the real deal and will only get better as key players, namely Joseph Sua’ali’I, return.

5. Bath + 1

Climbs one spot due to the Reds and Chiefs losses. Next up is a clash with rivals Gloucester, which is a real opportunity to push further ahead of the chasing back in the Premiership.

6.  Chiefs - 3

Drop down three spots on the back of their slightly unexpected loss away to the Fijian Drua. To be fair to the league leaders, very few teams have great success in Fiji, but given just how impressive they had been, the Chiefs entered that clash as favorites.

7. Toulon – N/A

Staying put this week despite movement above. Toulon returning to action next against Top 14 struggler Perpignan presents a great chance to get back into the win column.

8. Glasgow | N/A

Stay put this week, despite movement above, and facing a true test against their most bitter rivals Munster in the next round, the Warriors will hope to park their Ospreys misery.

10. Bristol | N/A

Facing the second-to-last team in the Premiership in Exeter next up, Bristol has a real chance to either put more distance between itself and third-place Gloucester, or close the gap on Bath, depending on the result in that fixture.

11. Bulls | N/A

Clinging onto the top spot in terms of the South African sides in this year's competition on the overall log, albeit the Sharks have won the SA Shield.

We are not 100% convinced by the Bulls due to how many big games they've lost in recent seasons, but on their day, they are a cracking outfit.

12. Gloucester | N/A

Similar to Bristol, the Cherry and Whites stay put, while those around them shuffle, but they have a real chance at a huge jump, if they can down Bath next time out.

13. Hollywoodbets Sharks | + 3

They are up three spots, having gained sweet revenge on the Lions with a narrow clutch win to stay in the top four of the URC table.

Having clinched the SA Shield, the Durban side continues to prove that despite being just behind the Bulls, they have the highest ceiling of any South African side this season.

14. Bayonne | - 1

Down one spot on account of the Sharks' win.

15. Highlanders | N/A

Staying put this week, despite movement above them.

16. Queensland Reds | – 11

On the back of a true hiding against the Crusaders, Les Kiss’ side showed a few cracks that could provide a template for future opponents.

Struggling to contain the Crusaders, the Reds have conceded 103 points and scored 103 points. This level of parity is not a recipe for success, so Kiss will need to dig deep into his area of expertise and sort out the defense going forward.

17. Lyon | – 2

Drops down due to movement all around.

17.  Northampton Saints | N/A

Staying put this week, despite movement above them.

18. Harlequins | N/A

Staying put this week, despite movement above.

19. Leicester Tigers | N/A

Staying put this week, despite movement above them.

20. Emirates Lions | - 3

They dropped down one spot on our rankings, but climbed a place on the URC table, courtesy of their losing bonus point against the Sharks. For us, that was loss was far from catastrophic, and the Lions are tracking nicely for a knockout spot this season.

21. Sale | N/A

Staying put this week, despite movement above.

22. Munster | + 1

Climbing one spot, as the Western Force dropped out of the top 25 on the back of a Waratahs drubbing.

Next up for Munster is an exhibition match against the Leicester Tigers this Friday ahead of a URC return the following week.

23. Ospreys | + 1

Downing the champions in their own backyard takes some doing, and in truth, the Ospreys looked comfortable doing so.

While Jack Walsh rightly will be heralded as the hero, the Ospreys never should have allowed it to be that close. Still, the Welsh side was at times spectacular at Scotstoun and will back themselves to climb into the top 8 when it is all said and done.

24. Montpellier | + 1

Bumping Saracens out of the Top-25, Montpellier is an interesting case this season.

Sitting with a losing record, but positive points difference, Montpellier is good enough to turn over any team in the Top 14, but also capable of having head-scratching losses.

In Round 18, Montpellier edged Castres to remain just four points behind the fifth-place side. If things remain this tight, the experienced Montpellier men have the minerals to be the ones to win a fistfight.

25. Saracens | + 1

Jumping back into the top-25 following the Western Force’s big loss, the Premiership side has some key performers for England this Six Nations and feels like a dark horse for a title run.
