Just four minutes into the Investec Champions Cup Final, chaos ensued, as Northampton fullback and captain George Furbank hit the field and did not get up.

A series of passes made their way down the line for opponent Union-Bordeaux Begles, and a wide kick to the sideline caused Furbank to reach up for the ball and collide with a UBB defender.
It wasn't until another UBB player climbed over Furbank that he took a knee to the face, remaining on the ground until referees called time off.
Furbank was treated and eventually carted off the field to join teammate James Ramm, who went to the sidelines earlier in the game.
It has since been revealed that Furbank is sitting on the bench with no serious damage.
Prior to today's matchup against UBB, Furbank suffered a broken arm in December, missing nearly the entire 2025 season as he got metal plates inserted.
It caused Furbank to miss time against Leinster in the Investec Champions Cup semifinals, and Northampton's head coach noted it was a gamble as to whether or not Furbank would be healthy enough to play against UBB.
Now, it looks like the captain will miss crucial game time in the final.
