The London-based team's U.S. tour got off to a strong start on April 22 with a dominant 60-5 win over Dallas Athletic.

With a history stretching back over 150 years, Richmond is one of the biggest clubs in England and has more than 2,700 members. While some financial issues halted the team's success in 1999, the club has fought back to climb from London 1 (level 5) to where its is now, the Greene King IPA Championship. From 2001 to 2007, Richmond won six Surrey Cups.

- Played in the world's first inter-club fixture against Blackheath in 1864
- One of the eight founding clubs of the RFU in 1871
- Hosted first experimental floodlit game in 1878
- Played at the Richmond Athletic Ground since 1889
- Played the first All Blacks touring side in 1905
- Played in the first game at Twickenham in 1909
- Celebrated 100th anniversary with a match at Twickenham in 1961
- The first women's international match played at Richmond 1986
- One of the first clubs to go professional in 1996
- Promotion to premiership 1997-98 season
- Celebrated its 150th anniversary with a match against the Barbarians in 2011
