The Canadian Misfits may have misfired at the NAI 7s in August, but the upcoming New York 7s could see a completely different outcome for the elite high school program from up north.

Head coach Nigel D'Acre, who returns to his old stomping grounds in New York City, said his Misfits have high expectations heading into next Saturday's tournament.

"We are fresh off a solid tournament win at the Qmeta Cup, where our U18 Elite Men swept the field beating Upright in the final," said D'Acre, who, among his many stops in a globetrotting rugby playing career, suited up for Old Blue in NYC.

That Misfits vs. Upright clash was a repeat of the NAI 7s Plate Final, which the Misfits won. They also took first in the Magnificent 7s in Ontario last month.

The Misfits are led by prop Josh Andrew, who is from the Royal Military Academy in Kingston, Ontario, and is a hard-running big body with plenty of elite-level experience. Another scary proposition for any defender is Henry Stevenson, who represented Canada at the Youth Commonwealth Games.

Glenn Butler, a talented athlete with a ton of speed, is new to the team but could turn some heads in New York.

"There is plenty of good stuff on the horizon for the Canadian Misfit program," D'Acre said.

You can see the Misfits play LIVE on FloRugby at the New York 7s all day on Nov. 25. FloRugby is streaming action from three fields and showing a large portion of the Boys High School Elite bracket.
