Lindenwood Seeks Premier Challenge at NY 7s
Lindenwood University's women's team has moved up to the Women's Premier bracket for the New York 7s.
The Lindenwood University women's team has eschewed the Women's College bracket at the New York 7s in favor of the Women's Premier competition, and it's a smart move.
The Lions have a young team, with eight players either freshmen or sophomores, but one of them, Richelle Stephens, is an Olympian, and another, Charity Tenney, led her team to the NAI 7s title as a high-schooler this past summer.
This will be a massive challenge for Lindenwood, but since the Lions won the USA Rugby College 7s Championships, they have already shown they can compete at a high level.
Head coaching the team is Billy Nicholas who is no stranger to the NYC 7s tournament. The last tournament he coached was with the Atlantis HS Elite and who won the tournament in 2016.
