In Their Words: College Rugby Coaches, Players Comment On Results
College playetrs and coaches comment on some big games this past weekend.
It was a wild weekend in men's college rugby, and we'll let the coaches and players tell you what they thought.
Cal 101, Dartmouth 31
Should Cal be happy with the 101 or concerned about giving up 31?
"We were good in patches," Bears head coach Jack Clark said. "Something we forget to do the hard parts of the game before the open, fun parts. There is no doubting we are still a work in progress. Our best rugby is still inside us.
"Dartmouth were pure class. Fine men that came into Strawberry Canyon and scored four tries."
Life 31, Lindenwood 12
Life clinched the Mid-South with this victory at Lindenwood.
"We knew we were coming into a hostile environment with one job to do," Running Eagles captain Mitch Wilson said. "The team is happy to come away with a good performance and the result."

Notre Dame College 35, Indiana 15
"Indiana is a good team, and well coached, but we were able to take some space away from them in the backs," NDC head coach Jason Fox said. "Our outside center, Evan Bradshaw, was able to get in guys' faces a little bit. We're excited with how we played."
Army 18, Navy 15
"I am not sure we played all that well, but we played well enough," Army head coach Matt Sherman said. "I was a bit disappointed with so many chances—eight possessions inside their 22—without a score. But we found a way."
Texas A&M 19, Texas 5
"Texas is a good team and our guys needed to respect that," A&M head coach James Lowrey said. "And I don't think we did in the first half."
Scrumhalf Justin Brown added: "What makes us play together is that we're a family."
Baylor 67, Texas Tech 28
"We played some excellent rugby," Baylor head coach Mason Hering said. "Set piece has come along for us so that’s good news, and our attack was fast-paced and precise. But we gave up two really soft tries in the last 90 seconds."
