Samurai PRP Player Of The Week: Viliame Iongi, Belmont Shore
Tongan speedster Viliame Iongi is lighting up the PRP.
Former Tongan international Viliame Iongi has lit a fire in Belmont Shore's backline with his superb running and try-scoring skill this season.
In Belmont Shore's victory against the Olympic Club two weeks ago, Iongi scored an astounding four tries. Not to be outdone, Iongi repeated the feat in a 39-20 win over mighty OMBAC this past weekend.
Those four tries helped propel Shore to a crucial upset of the league leaders and earned Iongi our Samurai Pacific Rugby Premiership Player of the Week honors.

"Iongi is an international player and he should punish defenses, frankly," Belmont Shore head coach Ray Egan said. "But he’s been working off scraps from us. These last two weekends we were able to give him good ball in space and you can see what he did.
"He's a very intelligent player and a very balanced runner. He has helped put our noses in front of SFGG for second, and he gives us confidence in our game."
Sounds like a Player of the Week to us.
