Bryce Campbell, the 2017 Scholz Award winner as the top college player in the USA and now the proud holder of 15 caps for the Eagles, will join London Irish on contract this coming fall.

Campbell, who played his high school rugby for the Royal Irish in Indianapolis before going on to star at Indiana University and now with the Glendale Raptors, will join the London Irish in the Rugby Championship—English rugby's Tier II pro league—for the 2018-19 season.

The hard-charging center has been a stalwart for the Eagles since he made his debut in late 2016, usually starting and rarely playing fewer than the full 80 minutes.

“I can’t wait to make the move to England and join up with my new teammates for preseason,” Campbell said in the club's announcement about the signing. “I’m grateful for having the opportunity to play for London Irish, and I’m looking forward to the challenge of helping the club achieve its target of promotion back to the Premiership next season.”

London Irish technical consultant Declan Kidney said: “We are looking forward to Bryce joining our preseason program in the middle of July following on from the end of the June international series and the U.S. domestic league season.”

As Kidney said above, Campbell will be available for the USA's three games in June.
