Saint Mary's posted two victories on Saturday at home in Moraga, taking down Utah Valley University with a largely 2nd-grade side, and then defeating the Glendale Academy U23s in the closer.

Both games were live on FloRugby.

Led by the hard hitting of center Brandon Calk, Saint Mary's defeated Utah Valley 31-7. The game featured some dogged defense from Saint Mary's as UVU came close to scoring on several opportunities. Freshman Joe Marchant showed well at prop, with Hayden Warneke coming into his own at hooker and captain of the 2nd team.

In the second game, Sean Yacoubian and Aaron Matthews directed the attack nicely, with Yacoubian's boot also effective. Antoine De La Fontaine got two tries, and so did prop Payton Telea Ilaleo, who has been a force all through this young season. 

Ronan Murphy and Vili Helu led the charge among the forwards and Saint Mary's cruised 73-7.

The Gaels now take a week off before hosting a very strong BYU at Moraga. That game, also, will be LIVE on FloRugby.
