Lasike Suspension Reduced, Can Play Against Brazil
Paul Lasike's World Rugby sanction was reduced to one week.
USA center Paul Lasike has successfully appealed his initial sanction by World Rugby and has received a one-week suspension for the stamping incident in the USA vs Argentina XV game.
Lasike received a red card for using his boot to release himself from Matias Osadczuk, who had grabbed Lasike's leg and wouldn't let go (a penalizable offense to being with).
The Eagle center received a suspension of two weeks, which is pretty low for such an incident, usually reserved for players with good disciplinary records, who show remorse, and whose offense was in something of a gray area.
World Rugby appeals officer, Alan Hudson, then heard USA Rugby's appeal and opted to lower the suspension to one week. Lasike served that suspension this past weekend, as he did not play for Harlequins, and thus he is available for selection this coming weekend against Brazil.
