Scully, Te'o Return As Eagles Select For Brazil
The USA has named its lineup to face Brazil Feb 23, 2019
USA men's head coach Gary Gold has selected his team to take on Brazil Saturday at 7:10pm CT at Dell Diamond just north of Austin, TX.

Gold has regular USA captain Blaine Scully back from injury to lead the squad, and all-time-leading Americas Rugby Championship try-scorer Mikey Te'o also returns after a long rehab from injury.
Props Chance Wenglewski and Paul Mullen fill out the front row alongside hooker James Hilterbrand. Hilterbrand jumps in for Joe Taufete'e, who continues his recovery from injury. Locks Nate Brakeley and Nick Civetta make up the second row while the back row remains consistent with flankers John Quill and Hanco Germishuys; as well as No. 8 Cam Dolan.
The backs will feature Will Magie at flyhalf and the much-anticipated return of Te'o on the wing. Te'o last suited up for the Eagles a year ago during the Americas Rugby Championship 2018 in March. The duo of Bryce Campbell and Paul Lasike will cover at center, with Scully on the wing and Marcel Brache at fullback.
David Ainuu, Ben Landry and Will Hooley all have the opportunity to come on as reserves, along with San Diego Legion's Kapeli Pifeleti, who could make his national team debut.
"It's been a long couple of weeks but we're ready to continue with the ARC and have used our disappointing result against Argentina XV as a learning experience," said Gold. "We know Brazil will bring an incredibly strong set piece; and in order to overcome that, we'll need to remain patient and focus on getting the small things right through each phase. We'll be in front of a vocal home crowd this weekend and that atmosphere will be a vital component in keeping momentum on our side."
The U.S. Men's National Team and Brazil have met three times -- all in the Americas Rugby Championship -- with the Eagles owning two wins from the 2017 and 2018 ARCs. Brazil will be no easy opponent, however, sporting a notorious set piece which allowed their side to overcome Canada in the last round of the tournament.
Currently sitting in third place following their loss to Argentina XV, the United States will have the energy of a strong home crowd to back them in Saturday's contest. The match kicks off at 7:10 PM Central Time.
Following Brazil, the Eagles will travel to Seattle for two final games against Uruguay (Mar 2) and rival-Canada (Mar 8) at Starfire Sports. Tickets for all three remaining matches are available at usarugby.org/tickets. All games will be broadcast LIVE on FloRugby, exclusively in the U.S.
