This week's slate of games involving D1A college teams includes one storied rivalry and a few other matchups with some history.

Cal hosts University of British Columbia in the always-intriguing two-game series between the two.

"They are a very physical team—big and strong and skilled," said Cal head coach Jack Clark, who also acknowledged that his team might be a shade undercooked.

Why? Because Cal hasn't found an opponent to get within the Bears' zip code so far this season. Cal is as clinical a program as you can get, but they still haven't found the right game to measure where they are. UBC will do that.

"They offer a lot of body-blows through the game so for us we have to ring the bell on every chance we get," said Clark. "There will be no easy quarter of the game, and it will be physically and also mentally tough for us. We're looking forward to it."

In another big rivalry, Lindenwood takes on Life University. That game is live on FloRugby. Details here

Also live on FloRugby will be San Diego State at Saint Mary's. This is a key conference game for both, but one in which the Gaels—so strong so far this season—will be favored. Saint Mary's will rest some players, such as Vili Helu, Sean Yacoubian, and Tevite Lopeti. But the Gaels have shown they have depth, and with a superb front row they should control things.

The Aztecs are smarting from a loss to UC Davis, and need a good performance in this game to get some rankings love.

Cal Poly is at UC Davis, also in the California Conference, and should Davis win, the Aggies might be thinking playoffs.

The Red River culminates with its championship match, and its 3rd/4th game. Texas A&M takes on Oklahoma for the conference title, and a home playoff game. Led by the try-scoring talents of Jeremy Brown and Preston Patterson, A&M lost only once in league play, 27-24 at Arkansas in October.

Oklahoma, led by fearless flanker Logan Ronan, also has only one league loss, 32-27 to Arkansas in September. Arkansas has got to be wondering what happened that they couldn't seal the deal and get to the final.

It will be a close one, as will the Arkansas-Baylor 3rd-4th clash.
