Head coach Esteban Meneses has switched out his props, bringing in Mateo Sanguinetti—capped 57 times—and Juan Pedro Rombys—24 caps—in a sure sign that Los Teros want to take it to the USA in the scrum.

Locks Ignacio Dotti and Diego Magno (Uruguay's most-capped player ever with 86) are also changes, as Meneses switches out six of his eight starting forwards. Flanker Juan Diego Ormachea and No. 8 Alejandro Nieto join captain Juan Manuel Gaminara in the back row. Gaminara (62 caps) epitomizes the Uruguayan approach; he is strong, uncompromising, and gets under your skin.

The backline is relatively stable in comparison, with only elusive scrumhalf Santiago Arata, center Andres Vilaseca, and fullback Gaston Mieres coming into the side.
Most of these players suited up for Uruguay against USA Selects in the Americas Pacific Challenge in the fall.
