The Tropical 7s is set to kick off Friday, April 19 in Orlando, FL, and the tournament has exploded in the three short years of its existence.

Watch the Topical 7s LIVE on FloRugby, Field 1 and 2

"There's a demand for professionally-run, high-level tournaments at good venues with nice weather," said Tropical 7s Tournament Executive Director John Siner. "In our first year, we had 25 teams. Last year we had 50. Now we have 110, and teams from all over the world are already talking to us about next year."

Joining NAHS

This year the Tropical 7s has joined the North America HS 7s series, with the tournament being the first in a three-event series culminating in the NAI 7s in Salt Lake City. FloRugby will show all three tournaments live, as the top select 7s programs for high school boys and high school girls compete.

"Being part of the NAHS 7s brings in the top academies, but we also have high-level college, high school, and younger levels, too," said Siner. "Some teams come for several days beforehand and have a training camp. We've got a really nice facility and a Tropical 7s Village which is a lot of fun. It's just blown up this year."

Breakaways And Collisions At NAI 7s

The Tropical 7s is also a chance for referees to get high-level experience, and refs from around the USA but also around the rest of the world. The tournament houses them and they work on honing their game.

"There's a huge demand for that," said Siner. "The hotel is part of the venue so everyone is able to use the facility."

Expanded Offering

The NAHS 7s brackets for boys and girls will be LIVE on FloRugby on Field 1 and 2. All 29 Boys NAHS games, and all 26 Girls NAHS games will be shown.

But there's room for more games on those fields, so fans can also see a small but potent Women's College bracket, which includes Lindenwood, Life, Guelph, Stars Rugby 7s, and West Point, while fans will also see several Boys U18 Open and Girls U18 Open games.
