RWC Game 20: New Zealand vs Canada

New Zealand put Canada to the sword on Wednesday night at Oita Stadium, 63-0

Seven different All Blacks scored on the evening, including one try apiece from each of the three Barrett brothers. New Zealand's tempo and accuracy were far too much for Canada to handle.

With each contest, the Richie Mo'unga/Beauden Barrett combination, or "Beau'unga" as they're calling it in New Zealand, grows stronger and stronger. The All Blacks are looking awfully formidable at the moment.

What they're saying

Richie Mo'unga (NZL)

On the game:
"It was just something that we've been looking forward to. Obviously we have had a bit of a long break, but to be able to come out and throw the ball around in such an awesome environment and the atmosphere is outstanding. To play in a covered stadium meant that the game could a bit more expansive. And you know, what an entertaining game that was.

"I think it was a good time for us to try things. It was a good time for us to experience a few new moves so what that meant was we got a few more set-pieces and it means that backs could have a bit of fun and try a few things."

On the support from New Zealand fans in the crowd:
"I just want to say thanks and what a wonderful occasion this is for you guys to be here and we're just so thankful for your support and obviously it's a long way from home but a crowd like this makes us feel very grateful."

Peter Nelson (CAN)

On almost scoring a breakaway try:
"I got a great offload from Lucas (Rumball), saw Beauden (Barrett) in front of me and just had to back myself but he's an incredible player. He has incredible pace and he was able to track me down, but it was nice to make the break."

On the lessons Canada learned:
"The speed the All Blacks play at is incredible. We probably aren't used to that. We probably haven't played at that pace or with that high intensity in a test match and it can only stand us in good stead going forward. With that under our belts now we know we have two huge games ahead."

On playing the All Blacks:
"It's my first time. It was a special experience to play against the All Blacks and to say I've done that is very special."
