Arguably the most loaded of all pre-nationals/CRC collegiate 7s tournaments, the West Coast 7s brings together a number of the top units in the country. The tournament will be held at Treasure Island and broadcast on FloRugby.

Perennial powerhouse Cal will be there to defend their title, but they could find the sledding to be tougher this year. They were beaten in last weekend's warm up tournament by both Cal Poly and UCLA. Those two teams will be a tough out this coming weekend. 

Arizona is another team that has proven time and time again over the years that they can hang with any of the top dogs in the 7s game. They'll be one of the favorites. 

There will be a fair few dark horses competing as well. Don't sleep on Cal Maritime, Stanford, UC Davis, Utah or Arizona State. 

UC San Diego, UCAC, and Trinity Western round out the field. The latter of those three is an intriguing team, in that they are the only team participating from outside the country. The school from British Colombia is in its first year as a varsity program, and this weekend will be the team's first major test.
