In an epic match at Ellis Park, South Africa narrowly edged New Zealand 31-27 in a game that epitomizes the drama of rugby and the intense 100-year rivalry between the Boks and the All Blacks.

The Springboks staged a remarkable comeback to emerge victorious, with Grant Williams scoring the game-winning try in the 74th minute. 

This game, marked by pummeling ferocity and brute strength, saw South Africa’s Pieter-Steph du Toit named Man of the Match for his performance. Despite New Zealand scoring more tries, the Springboks' utter relentlessness proved too much in the end. 

The clash, the first between the teams since last year's World Cup final, turned out to be a much higher-scoring affair than their last match, where South Africa's penalty goals ultimately made the difference in the game.

Williams stands at 6-foot-5 and 317 pounds. That is nearly a foot taller (less three inches) than his elite South Africa counterpart, Ox Nche.

For our imperial system friends, that is 1.96m and 144kg.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu Continues To Start

Erasmus continues to opt for the next generation, starting Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu at No. 10. 

While his kicks haven't been perfect, there have been flashes of brilliance from the 22-year-old wunderkind, as he creates for others. 

Feinberg-Mngomezulu is noted for his elite kicking ability, and that should come around eventually.

He'll be given a grand chance today after acclimating in games against Wales, Ireland and Australia. And it certainly helps to have one of the best in the world in Handre Pollard, waiting in the wings as a replacement.

Boks Bolstered By Etzebeth Upgrade

"South Africa lock Eben Etzebeth has been cleared to face New Zealand in the highly anticipated Rugby Championship showdown in Johannesburg on Saturday. 

Initially ruled out of the match due to injury, Etzebeth has been named on the bench after passing a late fitness test.

Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus originally excluded the two-time World Cup winner from matchday 23 when the team was announced on Tuesday. However, with a mounting injury crisis in the second row - leaving the Springboks without five regulars - Erasmus made the decision to include the towering lock as a replacement.
